Nissan, Mitsubishi Move Forward with Joint EV Projects at Ampere's Douai Plant

Nissan Motor (TYO:7201) and Mitsubishi Motors (TYO:7211) are moving forward with the implementation of their joint projects, selecting Ampere to manufacture their latest fully electric models: the Nissan Micra and the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

These vehicles will be built on Ampere's specialized AmpR Small and AmpR Medium platforms, respectively, at the Douai plant in France, according to a statement on Tuesday evening.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, set to be unveiled on Sept. 17, will be the brand's first full-electric SUV for Europe and its first vehicle produced in France.
