Top Cryptocurrencies Rise; Bitcoin Tops $116,000

Major digital assets rose Tuesday with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) topping $116,000.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including bitcoin, rose 1% in the past 24 hours. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3%, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 each eased 0.1%.

Bitcoin rose 1.2% to $116,830, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume fell 16% to $44.1 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, was little changed at $4,489.

XRP (XRP-USD) gained 1.3%, BNB (BNB-USD) added 3.6%, and Solana (SOL-USD) climbed 1.8%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) rose 1.3%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) added 1.9%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.024% at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, down from 4.034% Monday, while the five-year yield fell to 3.583% from 3.60%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry rose 1% in the past 24 hours to $4.04 trillion with trading volume up 1.3% to $257.5 billion.
