But that is meagre solace in the face of the shocking decline over three years.  To wit, the share price sky-dived 71% in that time.  So we're relieved for long term holders to see a bit of uplift.  The thing to think about is whether the business has really turned around.      With the stock having lost 9.8% in the past week, it's worth taking a look at business performance and seeing if there's any red flags.  This technology could replace computers: discover the 20 stocks are working to make quantum computing a reality.  Forward Air isn't currently profitable, so most analysts would look to revenue growth to get an idea of how fast the underlying business is growing.  When a company doesn't make profits, we'd generally hope to see good revenue growth.  That's because it's hard to be confident a company will be sustainable if revenue growth is negligible, and it never makes a profit.   In the last three years, Forward Air saw its revenue grow by 16% per year, compound.   That's a pretty good rate of top-line growth.   So it seems unlikely the 20% share price drop (each year) is entirely about the revenue.  More likely, the market was spooked by the cost of that revenue.
