金吾财讯 | 荷兰国际集团经济学家James Smith表示，英国央行仍倾向于进一步降息，但今年能否再次实施降息尚不确定。英国央行长期沿用的前瞻性指引（政策导向声明）未发生变化，其关于量化紧缩的公告也符合投资者的普遍预期。但Smith在一份报告中指出，8月的利率决策明确表明，英国央行对从此前水平进一步降息的态度正变得愈发谨慎。已有部分观点甚至认为，本轮降息周期已宣告结束。即便未来降息的时点仍不明确，该机构也不认同‘降息周期已结束’这一说法，仍略倾向于认为英国央行今年会再降息一次，但这一判断的确定性较低。该机构表示，目前来看，11月降息的可能性大致是50%。
