Kellanova-Mars Merger Probe Gets Resumed by European Commission

The European Commission is resuming a probe into Mars' proposed acquisition of Kellanova (K), with a decision deadline set for Dec. 19, according to a Wednesday update on the Commission's website.
The Commission halted the probe in July pending more data, after opening a full investigation in June over concerns the deal could boost prices and Mars' bargaining position with retailers, Reuters reported.
The $36 billion deal, already cleared in the US, would rank among the sector's largest, according to the report.
Kellanova did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
