Travelers Increasingly Use AI for Trip Planning -- Market Talk

1148 ET - Greater adoption of artificial intelligence tools is the leading trend in travel, with the number of consumers who used an AI-based app to help with trip planning more than doubling year-over-year to about 30% in 2025, Wedbush Securities analysts say in a note after attending a panel with industry executives. While current experimentation of agentic AI in the travel industry is widespread, most companies are using the same undifferentiated AI chatbots, which have yet to materialize into any economic benefit, the analysts say. Companies should be able to monetize AI in the future with vertical use cases, like automating procurement or reimagining call centers, they say. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
