Ferguson Is Seeing Residential Activity Split by Income -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Sep 17

1445 ET - Ferguson's flat residential sales due to slow home sales and remodeling activity are even weaker in the lower end of its markets, says Chief Executive Kevin Murphy on the company's analyst call. "We've said that the higher end of the market will continue to perform better than the rest," Murphy says. The company is continuing to see healthy traffic in its showroom business, which caters to remodel projects for the high end of the market, but is seeing pressure in the lower end of the market through its residential trade segment. Ferguson climbs 7%. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
