China Bans Tech Companies from Ordering Nvidia's Chips, Sources Tell FT

-- China's internet regulator has banned the country's largest tech companies from buying Nvidia's artificial-intelligence chips, The Financial Times reported, citing three people with knowledge of the matter. The move comes as Beijing ramps up its efforts to boost its domestic industry and compete with the U.S.

-- The Cyberspace Administration of China this week told companies such as ByteDance and Alibaba that they are to end their testing and orders of the RTX Pro 6000D, Nvidia's tailor-made product for the country, the report said.

-- Nvidia's chief executive, Jensen Huang, told reporters in London on Wednesday that he expected to discuss the company's ability to do business in China with President Trump that evening, during Trump's state visit to the U.K., according to The Financial Times.
