FMR Resources (ASX:FMR) said it began its maiden drilling program, consisting of phase one diamond drilling, at the Southern Porphyry target within the Llahuin copper-gold project joint venture in Chile, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The program consists of around 4,000 meters of diamond drilling over the next three months at an interpreted large porphyry copper system. It is designed to test the integration of geophysical modelling of magnetics, magnetotellurics, and induced polarization, surface geological mapping, and re-logging of historic drill holes.
The project is a joint venture with Southern Hemisphere Mining (ASX:SUH).
It will conduct downhole geophysics on all drill holes to refine existing 3D geophysical models and identify new targets.
