0343 GMT - LG Display is set to post a profit turnaround in 3Q,Shinhan Securities says in a note. The South Korean flat-screen maker is expected to report an operating profit of KRW458 billion for the July-September period, compared with a KRW116-billion loss in the previous quarter and a KRW81-billion loss a year earlier, Shinhan says. The anticipated turnaround is backed by the launches of new smartphones, tablet computers and smartwatches by Apple as well as seasonal demand and lowered depreciation costs for its organic light-emitting-diode business, Shinhan notes. The company stays on course to return to an annual operating profit in 2025 after three consecutive years of losses. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
