ChainCatcher 消息，链上数据分析师 Murphy 表示，以市场上三类鲸鱼群体的持仓行为：A：持有 1k–1w 枚 ETH；B：持有 1w–10w 枚 ETH；C：持有超过 10w 枚 ETH 为主要观测对象。这三类群体也是当前市场中 ETH 的主要筹码力量。数据显示，每当这些鲸鱼群体持续、大规模兑现利润时，市场往往会承受明显压力。
例如在 2024 年 3 月、6 月和 12 月，单日套现规模都达到 10 亿美元量级。当市场在短期内无法吸收这些超额供应时，价格就会出现阶段性回调。9 月 18 日，A 群体（1k–1w ETH）单日套现 15 亿美元，加上 B/C 两个群体，总规模高达 21.5 亿美元。当前这些筹码并未流入 CEX 地址，因此推测可能会通过 OTC 渠道消化。是否会对市场形成抛压，取决于做市商场外头寸的承接能力。如果场外无法完全消化，最终仍需在 CEX 内流转，那么 ETH 的价格必然会受到冲击。
