Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) said an updated mineral resource for the Star of Mangaroon prospect, part of the Mangaroon gold project in Western Australia, resulted in a 36% increase in the measured and indicated category of the total resource, compared to the 2024 resource, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The updated resource came in at 27,000 ounces at 11.1 grams per tonne grade of gold, and around 99% of the resource is in the measured and indicated category. The update resulted in a threefold increase in shallow ounces in the top 30 meters of the deposit. The resource is contained within around 110 meters of the surface.

The firm said commercial talks for the outsourcing of funding, development, haulage, and processing are in progress. An updated open-pit study is currently underway.

The firm's shares are up 12% in recent trading on Wednesday.
