EMVision Medical Devices (ASX:EMV) launched a pre-hospital mobile stroke unit study, a two-stage workflow assessment and data collection study of the firm's first responder brain scanner, in the Melbourne Mobile Stroke Unit, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The first stage will evaluate the usability and workflow integration of the first responder brain scanner within the mobile stroke unit environment in the hyperacute stroke phase, the filing said. It will enroll 10 suspected stroke patients.
The second stage will use the production-equivalent first responder device to collect scan data matched with ground-truth radiological imaging to support the advancement and evaluation of the firm's artificial intelligence-enhanced stroke detection algorithms, per the filing.
