日本自民党下任党首的热门候选人高市早苗试图与其一年前发表的鸽派言论划清界限，称应由日本央行决定货币政策的具体细节。

　　“在经济政策方面，政府负责决定财政和货币政策的方向，”高市周三在与其他四位候选人辩论时表示。“货币政策的实施方法则应由日本央行决定。这是我去年讲话的前提。”

　　去年参加自民党总裁选举时，高市曾表示加息是“愚蠢的”，这在当时给人留下了如果她当选，可能会放缓日本央行政策正常化进程的印象。最终她在决选中落败，但今年她被视为热门种子选手，这场选举可能将决定日本下一任首相人选。

　　市场对日本央行最早可能在10月30日再次加息的猜测甚嚣尘上之际，交易员们密切关注高市的竞选活动。两名委员对央行上周按兵不动的决定持有异议，令市场对该行离加息越来越近的预期升温。

　　高市对潜在加息步伐表达了谨慎态度。

　　“话虽如此，如果利率大幅上升，情况会变得有些令人担忧，”她指出，如果借贷成本较高，企业可能难以投资新技术。

　　自民党定于10月4日投票选出下一任党首。由于该党在参众两院均已失去多数席位，获胜者能否在国会投票中成为首相尚不确定。
