Alibaba's (BABA) AliExpress online retail service is keen on adding more major brands to its platform by offering lower shipping fees and a smaller cut on sales that Amazon (AMZN), Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

AliExpress is introducing the new plan to increase sales in important markets like Europe and Latin America, according to the report.

The news outlet added that AliExpress will try to attract brands already on Alibaba's T-Mall e-commerce platform.

Alibaba did not immediately respond to an MT Newswires request for comment.
