Honda Motor (TYO:7267) has halted production of its Acura ZDX electric crossover, assembled by General Motors in Tennessee, US, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.
The move comes as US automakers scale back EV plans on weaker demand and policy uncertainty, including the Sept. 30 phase-out of a $7,500 federal tax credit under President Donald Trump, according to the report.
GM had built the ZDX for Honda's Acura brand under a 2020 partnership. It also produces Honda's Prologue EV in Mexico, which shares a platform with GM's Cadillac Lyriq, the report said.
