Savills has appointed Nick Sanderson as its finance chief to succeed Simon Shaw when he steps up as chief executive.

The international real-estate advisor said Thursday that Sanderson will join the company from Great Portland Estates, where he held the role of chief financial and operating officer.

The group announced late April that Chief Executive Mark Ridley will retire at the end of the year, after serving the company for 29 years, and be replaced by Shaw on Jan. 1.

Sanderson will take on the CFO role on the same date, it said.

The London-listed group also named Vistry Group's Susie Bell as its new investor relations director. Bell will join in October.

Great Portland Estates separately confirmed Sanderson's departure after 14 years at the company, and said that its board has started the process to appoint his successor.
