Walt Disney's (DIS) several investors, including lawyers for the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, and Reporters Without Borders, are demanding documents from the media giant regarding the recent suspension of Jimmy Kimmel's show, multiple media outlets reported late Wednesday, citing a letter to the company.

Kimmel was taken off the air after making controversial remarks about right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, which sparked political backlash and pressure from the Trump administration, according to the reports.

Investors suspect Disney's board may have acted improperly, and they want to know how the suspension affected revenue and deals with affiliates such as Nexstar (NXST) and Sinclair (SBGI), which refused to air Kimmel's show, the reports said.

If Disney doesn't respond within five days, the groups' lawyers say they'll sue for the information, Reuters reported.

Disney did not immediately respond to an MT Newswires request for comment.
