据彭博新闻报道，汇丰控股已采取不同寻常的举措，直接参与推动其香港子公司恒生银行出售不良房地产债务组合，突显出对香港陷入困境的房地产行业的担忧日益加剧。
据知情人士透露，大约两个月前，汇丰控股指示其驻伦敦的全球首席企业信贷官和特别信贷部门负责人，确保恒生银行启动出售不良房地产债务组合的程序。由于私下讨论此事，这些知情人士要求不具名。
上述知情人士说，这一举措正在取得成效，恒生银行目前正处于出售价值逾30亿美元的一系列房地产支持贷款组合的初期阶段。此前，恒生银行的香港不良房地产贷款同比增长了85%。
