Honda Motor (HMC) said Monday that its global production fell to 267,005 units in August from 307,033 a year earlier.
Output in Japan dropped to 44,586 units in August from 50,431 a year earlier, while production outside Japan slipped to 222,419 units from 256,602, the company said.
Sales in Japan slid to 41,220 units in August from 45,868 a year ago, while exports from Japan rose to 7,307 units from 5,756, Honda said.
Shares of Honda Motor were down more than 4% in recent trading.
