Shares of furniture and other home-goods retailers slipped Monday, after President Trump announced new tariffs Friday on kitchen cabinets, upholstered furniture and bathroom vanities. Shares of Williams-Sonoma dropped roughly 4.5%, while shares of other retailers including RH, Arhaus. and Haverty Furniture also fell.

The levies, set to go into effect Wednesday, include 50% duties on kitchen cabinets and 30% on upholstered furniture. The U.S. runs a deficit in the furniture and household-goods trade: it imported $23.5 billion's worth in 2025 through July and exported just $2.9 billion, according to government data.
