智通财经APP获悉，USA Rare Earth(USAR.US)宣布，已达成协议以1亿美元现金加674万股普通股的对价，收购稀土金属及合金生产商LCM;同时任命芭芭拉·汉普顿(Barbara Humpton)为新任首席执行官(CEO)，接替乔希·巴拉德(Josh Ballard)，任命将于10月1日正式生效。消息发布后，该公司周一盘前股价上涨6.4%。
公司表示，此次收购将显著推进其“从矿山到磁体”的全链条战略，助力公司构建端到端的稀土供应链。
该公司指出，LCM在行业中占据独特地位：其位于英国的生产基地面积达6.7万平方英尺，是中国以外地区唯一经证实、具备规模化生产轻稀土和重稀土永磁金属及合金的企业;此外，LCM还拥有稳定的非中国来源原材料供应渠道，这一优势进一步巩固了其行业地位。
另据公告，公司之所以选择汉普顿担任新CEO，得益于其丰富的行业及管理经验：她在西门子集团任职14年，离职前担任西门子美国公司CEO;此前，她还曾担任博思艾伦咨询公司(Booz Allen Hamilton)副总裁及洛克希德·马丁公司(Lockheed Martin)副总裁。
