Gold shares advanced in recent Monday pre-market activity as gold futures rose by 1.2% to $3,854.2 per ounce.
Newmont (NEM) shares were up 3.1%, while Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) shares were 2.6% higher, and Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) stock was up 2.4%.
Franco-Nevada (FNV) shares were also up 4.1%, while AngloGold Ashanti (AU) stock was 3% higher.
