Jindal Steel Adds 3 MTPA Crude Steelmaking Capacity to Angul, India Unit

Jindal Steel (NSE:JINDALSTEL, BOM:532286) has commissioned a 250-ton (MT) basic oxygen furnace converter at its Angul integrated steel plant in Odisha, India, according to a Tuesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

This will lead to the addition of 3 million tons per annum MTPA of crude steelmaking capacity, taking the company's total capacity at Angul 6 MTPA to 9 MTPA.

The company aims to raise the Angul unit's capacity to 12 MTPA within the current financial year.
