Australian Shares Set to Rise -- Market Talk

2304 GMT -- Australian stocks are poised to rise on Monday, with futures up more than 0.2% ahead of the open. The bullish sentiment comes after a positive performance from U.S. stocks on Friday, when investors looked past sticky inflation data and a new round of tariffs to send major indexes higher, snapping a three-day losing streak. In Australia, the main S&P/ASX 200 benchmark rose nearly 0.2% last week after posting losses in the prior three weeks. In corporate news Monday, Hastings said it would sell its gold assets to Metal Bank, Mineral Resources said it finished upgrades to the Onslow Iron haul road and Deterra Royalties said it completed a sale of gold offtakes and royalties.
