Asara Resources (ASX:AS1) said results from the first 16 holes from the first phase reverse circulation drilling within the Massan mineral resource estimate area at its Kada gold project in Guinea revealed new zones of deeper mineralization, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

It encountered intercepts of 52 meters at 1.7 grams per tonne grade of gold from the surface, as well as 61 meters at 1.3 g/t grade of gold from the surface.

The drilling program was designed to infill the existing drilling at Massan to increase geological confidence, as well as to explore down-dip and along-strike extensions to the known mineralized structures. Drilling is ongoing.

The firm's shares jumped 10% in recent trading on Tuesday.
