智通财经APP获悉，美国能源部长克里斯·赖特表示，美国政府已同意收购Lithium Americas(LAC.US)股份，证实了上周引发该公司股价飙升的报道。受该消息影响，Lithium Americas周二盘后上涨35.3%。
在美国政府考虑入股的消息传出之后，Lithium Americas本周表示，其和合资伙伴通用汽车(GM.US)已与美国能源部就获得23亿美元联邦贷款的条件进行了商谈。
Lithium Americas耗资约30亿美元的Thacker Pass项目在特朗普第一任期末获得批准，而美国能源部贷款项目办公室提供的贷款已于去年由拜登政府完成发放。通用汽车正依靠Thacker Pass项目来满足其电动化转型所需的大部分锂需求。
另外，媒体报道称，美国能源部将持有Lithium Americas 5%的股份，以及该公司与通用汽车合资成立的Thacker Pass 5%的股份。
此举是特朗普政府为加速发展关键矿产本地供应链所做出的最新努力。今年早些时候，美国国防部宣布向MP Materials(MP.US)投资4亿美元，用于资助一家生产稀土磁铁的新工厂。
