(Updates with JP Morgan's response in the third paragraph.)
JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC), TD Bank (TD), Deutsche Bank (DB), and FirstBank Puerto Rico (FBP) could receive congressional subpoenas to hand over documents related to Jeffery Epstein's banking and investment activities before his 2019 death, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The anticipated subpoenas follow the handing over to the House Oversight Committee of a list of more than 20 banks that held Epstein's assets, the report said.
JP Morgan declined to comment while the other banks did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
