Alphabet's (GOOG) YouTube TV said Tuesday that it has reached a "short-term extension" deal with Comcast's (CMCSA) NBCUniversal to prevent any disruption to its service.
"NBCUniversal is asking us to pay more than what they charge consumers for the same content on Peacock, which would mean less flexibility and higher prices for our subscribers," YouTube TV said.
The companies continue to work on a new agreement after the previous one expired Tuesday, according to the statement.
