1252 GMT - Nike's results should be welcomed by Adidas shareholders at a time when the sporting-goods industry faces a challenging environment, Jefferies analysts write in a research note. Nike reported an increase in sales in its latest quarter with no deterioration in demand in the key U.S. market, the analysts say. Furthermore, the U.S. company managed to weather the tariff headwinds, they add. This seems positive for Adidas, at a time when German peer Puma is engaged in its own battles, the analysts say. Adidas's coming results should confirm strong sales trends despite reducing share losses by Nike, Jefferies says. Shares in Adidas trade 2.5% higher at 183.85 euros. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
