苹果公司表示，在为其iPhone操作系统引入生成式人工智能（AI）时，选择与OpenAI而非马斯克旗下的xAI合作“并无不当”。
苹果公司的律师在周二提交给法院的文件中称，即便公司先与OpenAI合作，“众所周知，苹果未来也有意与其他生成式AI聊天机器人合作”。
马斯克的xAI以及他的社交媒体平台X公司8月份起诉苹果和OpenAI，称苹果偏向由马斯克的竞争对手萨姆·奥尔特曼领导的OpenAI，抑制了AI行业的创新并剥夺了消费者的选择权，由此寻求数十亿美元的损害赔偿。
苹果要求位于德克萨斯州沃斯堡的法官驳回该案。苹果在文件中辩称，马斯克旗下公司的反垄断损害主张是“基于层层臆测”。
苹果的律师写道，X公司声称，苹果不能与OpenAI合作，除非同时与各家生成式AI聊天机器人合作，且不论其质量、隐私或安全考量、技术可行性、研发阶段或商业条款如何。苹果的律师指出反垄断法并无此要求。
