Sector Update: Financial Stocks Steady Pre-Bell Thursday

Financial stocks were steady pre-bell Thursday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) edging up 0.06%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up nearly 0.1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.1% lower.

KKR (KKR) is considering a potential sale of its 40% stake in Canadian midstream operator Pembina Gas Infrastructure, with the holding valued at around $7 billion, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter. KKR shares were 0.6% higher premarket.

Citigroup (C) has signed Eric Trump as a client, setting up a trust that holds some of US President Donald Trump's money, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Citigroup stock was up 0.2% pre-bell.

Banco Santander (SAN) plans to launch a fund that invests in significant risk transfers, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources with knowledge of the matter. Shares of Banco Santander were down more than 1% premarket.
