1027 ET - Increasing consumer demand for protein, coupled with the relative affordability of eggs, is creating a powerful tailwind for Cal-Maine's business, CEO Sherman Miller says on a call with analysts. "Consumers are demanding more choice, more convenience and more protein-rich foods," he says. "We provide one of the most nutrient dense, affordable sources of protein available--that matters today more than ever." Looking forward, the company aims to lean further into current trends with increased specialty egg capacity and ready-to-eat products. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
