Imax had a better-than-expected 3Q, as the cinema-technology company's global box office decimated forecasts during the recent quarter, Benchmark analyst Mike Hickey says in a research note. Momentum should accelerate into 4Q with a slate of high-profile releases including Disney's "Zootopia 2" and James Cameron's "Avatar: Fire and Ash" set to hit theaters, he adds. The company has "unmatched visibility" into 2026, Hickey says, thanks to upcoming releases such as Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" and new "Avengers" and "Star Wars" films. "Imax's execution on signings and installations remains a core growth driver," Hickey writes. Benchmark maintains its buy rating and raises its price target to $40 from $32. Shares rise 3%.
