1420 ET - Instacart owner Maplebear's stock is down more than 20% since 2Q results due to news that Amazon and DoorDash will each expand their grocery delivery presence. But the competitive risks to Instacart are overblown, say Oppenheimer analysts who reiterate their outperform rating. Amazon's grocery expansion only increases Instacart's value to its grocery partners, who don't want to partner with Amazon because the e-commerce giant is a competitor. Meanwhile, DoorDash's partnership with Kroger will primarily attract quick convenience orders but won't threaten Instacart's dominance in large basket orders, the analysts say. Investor sentiment seems to have bottomed, presenting a compelling setup for the stock. Maplebear is off 3.7%. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
