BUZZ-Gold miners gain as bullion tops $4,000 after Trump’s China remarks

** Shares of gold miners gain, tracking a rise in bullion prices GOL/

** Spot gold XAU= up 1.1% at $4,018.36/ounce; the metal is up 3.2% for the week and on track for its eighth straight weekly gain

** Gold prices topped $4,000 an ounce, boosted by safe-haven demand after U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at new tariffs on China

** Top miner Newmont NEM.N gains 0.6%

** U.S.-listed shares of South African miners Gold Fields GFI.N up 1%, Sibanye Stillwater SBSW.N gains marginally and Harmony Gold HMY.N rises 2%

** Canadian miners Agnico Eagle Mines AEM.TO up 1% and Kinross Gold K.TO rises marginally
