BUZZ-Rare earth miners rise after China tightens export controls

** U.S.-listed shares of rare earth metals producers rise in premarket trade, after China tightened export controls

** Thursday's announcement follows U.S. lawmakers' call for broader bans on the export of chipmaking equipment to China and expands on sweeping controls Beijing announced in April

** China produces over 90% of the world's processed rare earths and rare earth magnets

** Shares of MP Materials MP.N, NioCorp NB.O and Lithium Americas LAC.TO, LAC.N rise between 3.5% and 4.1%

** Critical Metals CRML.O gains 4.3%, Trilogy Metals TMQ.TO, TMQ.N rises 5.8% and USA Rare Earth USAR.O rises ~6%
