Auckland International Airport (NZE:AIA, ASX:AIA) recorded 1.6 million passenger movements in September, up 5% year on year, according to a Wednesday filing with the New Zealand and Australian bourses.

Total passenger movements for the financial year to date reached 4.6 million in September, marking a 2% year-on-year increase, per the filing.

Total international passengers rose 3% to 829,713, the filing said.

Excluding transits, international passenger movements increased by 5%, while international seat capacity rose 3%, resulting in average load factors of 84%, a 0.4 percentage-point decline year on year, the filing added.

Domestic passengers increased 7% to 720,298.
