阿根廷财政部长表示，美国财政部对阿根廷比索的支持是坚定不移的。
美国“愿意继续购买比索和债券，所有选择都在考虑之中”。经济部长路易斯·卡普托周日在布宜诺斯艾利斯电视台LN+的采访中说道，“今天，世界最强国说：‘阿根廷人，我们将竭尽所能，为你们创造更好的局面。’”
阿根廷总统哈维尔·米莱即将访问美国，10月14日在白宫和美国总统唐纳德·特朗普举行会晤。
上周美国迅速采取行动帮助稳定阿根廷经济，提供200亿美元融资，并在比索连续数周大幅下跌后罕见地进行外汇市场干预，以支撑比索。美国财政部还直接购买了比索，在这之前，阿根廷当局曾试图自行阻止比索下跌，但未能成功。
卡普托表示，与美国财政部达成的协议并不意味着美元化或比索贬值。他暗示阿根廷将在10月26日中期选举后维持现行的汇率区间制度。
在华盛顿介入市场之前，阿根廷财政部已斥资18亿美元试图支撑比索。周五公共假期后，阿根廷市场将于周一重新开市。
