周二的一项调查显示，英国9月消费者支出的增幅为四个月来最低，因财政大臣里夫斯下月公布的预算案构成不确定性以及能源账单上涨，令购物者望而却步。
英国零售业联盟（BRC）称，消费者9月在商店的支出同比增长了2.3%，增幅低于8月份的3.1%，是5月以来最微弱的增长。
另外，巴克莱银行的数据显示，一项衡量消费者支出的更广泛指标在9月呈现下降。
BRC首席执行官Helen Dickinson表示：“通胀率不断攀升加上预算案可能加税，影响了许多家庭的圣诞消费计划。”巴克莱银行在其报告中称，借记卡和信用卡消费在8月份增长0.5%之后，9月份较上年同期下降了0.7%。生活必需品支出下降了 2.6%，为连续第五个月下降。非生活必需品支出增长0.2%，为 15 个月来最弱。
