** Bullion hits record high as U.S. President Donald Trump's warning of possible fresh tariffs on China sparks rush to the safe-haven asset GOL/

** Gold producer Regis Resources RRL.AX among top percentage gainers on the benchmark index .AXJO with a 7.4% rise

** Catalyst Metals CYL.AX jumps 5.6%, while Bellevue Gold BGL.AX rises 4.7%

** YTD, AXGD has doubled in value
