WT Microelectronics (TPE:3036) board approved the issue of its first unsecured overseas convertible bonds worth up to $350 million, according to a Monday Taiwan Exchange filing.
Shares gained about 2% in Tuesday's late afternoon trade.
The two-year zero-coupon bonds will be issued at par, the computer components manufacturer said.
Proceeds will be used for procuring raw materials in foreign currencies.
