Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lower Premarket Tuesday

Consumer stocks were lower premarket Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) easing 0.01% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 1.1%.

General Motors (GM) stock was down nearly 2% after the company said its board approved charges of $1.6 billion in GM North America in the quarter through Sept. 30, based on a planned "strategic realignment" of its electric vehicle capacity and production footprint.

Domino's Pizza (DPZ) shares were up more than 2% after the company reported fiscal Q3 earnings and revenue that topped analysts' expectations.

Albertsons (ACI) stock was up nearly 8% after the company raised its fiscal 2025 adjusted earnings per share guidance and signed an accelerated share repurchase agreement for $750 million of its common stock.
