BlockBeats 消息，10 月 15 日，美国货币监理署（OCC）已对获得风险投资家 Peter Thiel 支持的 Erebor Bank 授予“初步有条件批准”，该银行计划服务于加密货币和人工智能领域。
货币监理署于周三批准了这项申请。货币监理官 Jonathan Gould 称，Erebor Bank 是他自今年 7 月上任以来“首家获得初步有条件批准的新设银行”。
Erebor Bank 旨在填补 2023 年倒闭的硅谷银行留下的市场空白。据《金融时报》报道，该银行由硅谷核心人物 Palmer Luckey 和 Joe Lonsdale 于 2025 年创立，并获得 Peter Thiel 的 Founders Fund 及 Haun Ventures 的支持。
根据申请文件，Erebor Bank 将作为国民银行同时提供传统银行服务与加密相关产品及服务。《金融时报》援引匿名消息人士称，尽管 Luckey、Lonsdale 和 Peter Thiel 与特朗普总统关系密切，该银行的申请并未获得“特殊待遇”。
