Spotify Collaborating With Music Publishers to Create AI-Based Products

Spotify Technology (SPOT) said Thursday that it is collaborating with Warner Music Group (WMG), Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Merlin, and Believe to develop artificial intelligence products that will protect the rights of artists and songwriters.

Spotify said the products will create new revenue streams for rightsholders, artists, and songwriters, so that they can be compensated for the use of their intellectual property, and receive proper credit.

The company said it has also begun building a generative AI research lab and product team to concentrate of developing technologies to back their products.
