路透新德里10月17日 - 三位政府官员表示，印度贸易部和一个政府智库正在推动放宽对中国进口商品的某些关税和非关税限制，他们承认印度的工业和出口增长越来越依赖中国的原材料。
消息人士说，他们正在寻求的措施包括允许某些产品的反倾销税失效，同时考虑削减皮革和工程产品等行业所用原材料的关税，因为这些行业的国内产能仍然有限。
一位政府官员表示，"政府和业界正在形成一种共识，即在与华盛顿谈判达成协议的同时，印度需要调整其贸易政策，包括与中国的贸易关系。＂
第二位官员说，印度商务部与政府政策智库NITI Aayog在部会间会议上支持业界呼吁降低原材料进口关税。他指出，像越南这样的国家对中国原材料的进口实施零关税，这使得印度制造商处于不利地位。
该名官员表示，最终是否削减关税仍由财政部决定。他指出，价格较低的中国原材料促进了苹果AAPL.O智能手机、药品、化工产品和工程商品的出口。
