Goldman Sachs Group (GS) is advising Vista Equity Partners on a plan to sell bonds backed by stakes in the investment firm's private capital funds, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The transaction, called a collateralized fund obligation, could reach around $1 billion, although the targeted amount to be raised has not yet been finalized, the sources said.

Goldman Sachs and Vista did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Goldman Sachs shares were down 2.1% in recent early trading.
