Infosys' (NSE:INFY, BOM:500209) consolidated attributable profit increased to 73.6 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30, against 65.1 billion rupees a year ago.
Earnings per share climbed to 17.74 rupees compared with 15.69 rupees a year earlier, according to a post-market hours filing on Thursday to the Indian stock exchanges by the technology giant.
The EPS is higher than the 17.51 rupees estimated by analysts polled by Visible Alpha
Revenue from operations in fiscal Q2 rose to 444.9 billion rupees from 409.9 billion rupees a year ago. This is higher than Visible Alpha's estimate of 439.0 billion rupees.
The company's board declared an interim dividend of 23 rupees per equity share to be paid on Nov. 7.
