1634 ET - The downturn in Deere's tractor sales appears to be reaching its bottom, and a solid recovery will soon follow, say UBS analysts, who upgrade the stock to buy. Downcycles for large tractor sales typically last 25 months, while the current downturn is now in its 20th month. Deere's tractor sales are approaching their lowest levels in 20 years and will likely reach trough levels by year end. Additionally, agriculture fundamentals are also bottoming out with grain prices near historical lows."As the inflection in earnings becomes more visible, we expect estimates to be revised higher, potentially driving 17% upside to shares," the analysts say.
