Contemporary Amperex Technology (SHE:300750, HKG:3750) or CATL said its subsidiaries, CATL Hong Kong and PT Contemporary Amperex Technology Indonesia (CATI), will sell $131.1 million worth of battery production equipment and related onsite services to PT Contemporary Amperex Technology Indonesia Battery (CATIB), according to a Monday bourse filing.
Hong Kong-listed shares of the battery manufacturer gained over 4% in Tuesday's late morning trade.
The transaction aims to support the construction and production needs of CATL's overseas battery plant in Indonesia.
Under the agreement, CATIB will purchase $108.9 million of production equipment from CATL Hong Kong and $22.1 million of onsite services from CATI, including installation, debugging, and manpower support.
Payments will be made in stages tied to equipment delivery, installation, and inspection milestones, the filing said.
CATL said the centralized procurement structure allows it to leverage scale advantages, reduce costs, and ensure technical consistency across operations.
